Short answer: Patriot Gold Group is our #4 Gold IRA company. It has zero BBB complaints in the last three years, the cleanest record we track. It loses points for a $50,000 minimum, fees that aren’t posted online and buyback pricing that isn’t published.

How we reviewed it: we scored this company with our published Gold IRA formula using fees reported by independent reviewers (Patriot Gold Group doesn’t post its fees online), its minimum, Better Business Bureau record (checked October 16, 2026) and buyback terms, plus independent reviews listed under Sources. We have not opened an account with this company ourselves.

Fees

Patriot Gold Group doesn’t publish its fees. Independent reviewers, quoting company representatives, report a $225 setup fee and about $250 in the first year, then about $200 a year. Reports vary, so ask for the full schedule in writing.

Patriot advertises “no fees for life” on storage and insurance for qualifying IRAs, but it doesn’t say what qualifies. Reviewers report thresholds between $100,000 and $250,000. We don’t count the promotion in the score; get the conditions in writing before you rely on it.

These fees don’t include the markup on the metal itself, which is usually the biggest cost of a Gold IRA and is rarely itemized. Ask for the price over spot in writing before you sign. Gold IRA fees explained →

Complaint record

Patriot Gold Group had 0 BBB complaints in the last three years, against 80 BBB customer reviews. That’s the best record of the seven companies we track. It holds an A+ BBB rating. It’s a smaller company than Goldco or American Hartford Gold, so it has fewer reviews to measure against.

Selling your metal back

Patriot says it helps customers sell their metal, but we couldn’t find its buyback pricing published. Ask for the terms in writing before you buy.

Who it’s for, and who should skip it

A good fit if you’re moving $50,000 or more and the cleanest complaint record matters most to you.

Look elsewhere if you have less than $50,000 (Birch Gold Group starts at $5,000), you want fees you can see before you call, or you want platinum or palladium.
