What fees cost at $50,000
At $235 a year, fees are about 0.47% of a $50,000 account. Over 10 years, that’s about $2,400 at Augusta, $2,430 at Birch and $2,930 at Noble Gold.
The markup on the metal usually costs more than all of that. On $50,000, a 3% markup is $1,500 and a 10% markup, common on proof coins, is $5,000.
Fee waivers near $50,000 (each company’s claim)
- Birch Gold Group pays the first year’s fees on transfers over $50,000. At exactly $50,000 you may not qualify; ask.
- Augusta Precious Metals says it may pay up to 10 years of custodian and depository fees for qualifying accounts. Get the conditions in writing.
- Goldco advertises up to 5% bonus silver on qualified purchases of $50,000 to $99,999, but only on its “premium coins”.
We don’t count promotions in our scores. Compare the total price, since a bonus or waiver can be offset by a higher markup. Don’t move more money than you planned just to reach a promotion tier. How Gold IRA fee waivers work →
